If your like me, I forget to tithe and end up making a big check that includes about 2 months of tithes. I know it is small, but I always forget to bring a check. One way around that is online donation. I researched many online donation tools, and found the cheapest.

How to Prevent Volunteer Burnout

When volunteering, it is hard not to become jaded by a situation. By jaded, I mean cynical and discouraged by the volunteering experience. I have been at volunteering events where everyone walks around with a scowl on their face. It does not have to be that way, though. I have been in rough situations, and seen people still love what they do, and not be jaded at all. They are all in a difficult situation, but they still work hard for the Lord. There are many reasons for this, but I think one prime reason is The Debrief.

I was reading some of the blogs I like to read earlier this week, when I saw a blog post by Seth Godin. Seth Godin is a genius marketer. If you do not already read his blog, do yourself a favor and subscribe to it. He has brilliant ideas about marketing. One of his blog posts was called Why we prefer live. It is about why people come to a live event instead of just watching, or listening to it in the comforts of there home. I agree with Seth on some points and disagree on some points.

To explain I will use the case study of the Mirror Lake Jump.

After meeting with many churches about their websites, I have begun to think there is an inconsistent reality to websites. Many churches believe that a lost person will be surfing on the web, randomly find their church website, realize the error of their ways, and go to their church that Sunday. I am not going to say that it will never happen–God is all-powerful, so it can happen. However, there are really 3 different types of visitors that will account for 95% of the traffic on your church website.

No one can do everything–a foot cannot see and a eye cannot walk. You may think that anyone can record and upload sermons to the internet . . . but they cannot. Uploading sermons takes a lot of time and effort. It is something that has to be worked on every week, and it is the same steps every week. It takes a person with a special gift to do it.
