If your like me, I forget to tithe and end up making a big check that includes about 2 months of tithes. I know it is small, but I always forget to bring a check. One way around that is online donation. I researched many online donation tools, and found the cheapest.
Online Donation Roundup
- Bank Online Bill Pay (free, but not really all online) – Most banks allow their customers to pay their bills online through their bank website. One feature is the ability to add a new biller with just an address. You can encourage your donors to add you as a biller, and use their bank’s website to send you donations. It is not really online, since a check will get mailed to you, but it is free.
- PayPal for Nonprofits (2.2% + $0.30 per transaction) – Lowest cost I found. It requires your donors to have a PayPal account, but most people already have that.
- Global Currents (3.8% + 0.25 per transaction) – From what I can tell doesn’t require donors to create account, just enter credit card information and go.
There are many more options for accepting donations online. I only listed the cheapest that I found.
